After stripping/whitening the wood, we recommend that you run vinegar and water over the furniture and let it air out for at least 24 hours.
Once the furniture is completely dry it should be sanded with sandpaper, this is because such treatment tends to lift the wood fibers and thus makes the wood very porous immediately after treatment.
